V dňoch 3-7. júna 2019 sa Štefan Gubo a Ondrej Takáč, odborný asistenti Katedry matematiky a informatiky, zúčastnili konferencie 4th International Workshop on Applied and Sustainable Engineering v poľskom Koszaline, kde uviedli prednášku s názvom Heritage Recording and 3D Modeling with 3D Scanning and Photogrammetry (spoluautor: dr. András Molnár). Vo svojej prednáške predstavili metódu na tvorbu 3D modelov románskych kostolov na Slovensku i v Maďarsku, a antických náhrobných kameňov.

Absztrakt: The importance of cultural heritage recording and documentation is well recognized at international level and capturing historic structures, archaeological sites and landscapes their current state have become nowadays a common practice. However, the creation of such 3D models requires a powerful methodology able to capture and digitally model the fine geometric and appearance details. This presentation mainly focuses on the methodology used to document selected Romanesque round churches in Slovakia and Hungary using various state of the art techniques, such as LiDAR and UAV. Furthermore, it also reports an application of 3D model generation of ancient tombstones and reliefs by using photogrammetric techniques.
