V dňoch 19-22. decembra 2016 sa Štefan Gubo, odborný asistent Katedry matematiky a informatiky, zúčastnil konferencie 10th Indian Conference on Computer Vision, Graphics and Image Processing na Indickej Technickej Inštitúcie (Indian Institute of Technology) v Guwahati, kde uviedol prednášku s názvom 3D-2D Data Fusion in Cultural Heritage Applications (spoluautori: Róbert Fröhlich a dr. Zoltán Kató). Vo svojej prednáške predstavil jeden proces, dôležitý aj z hľadiska zachovania kultúrneho dedičstva, pomocou ktorého je možné vytvoriť farebný metrický 3D model budov.

Abstrakt: We propose a workow for Cultural Heritage applications where the fusion of 3D and 2D visual data is required. Using a metric 3D point cloud acquired by a Lidar scanner and 2D images of a commercial high resolution DSLR camera, we show how to produce a high quality, metric 3D model for documenting or architectural planning purpose. The proposed processing workow describes the data acquisition tasks, the steps of the data processing, and the proposed method used for colorizing the point cloud from multiple cameras by choosing the camera with the best view based on different conditions. We show results on two Calvinistic churches.
