Absztrakt: There are several already known methods to find accident hot spots (locations in the national public road network, where the number of accidents is higher than expected based on the average values). One of the most frequently used of these is the sliding window method which is applicable for one-dimensional and two-dimensional spaces too. A particular variant of the one-dimensional method uses a variable sized sliding window, where the length of the investigated interval is not fixed. This paper presents the evaluation of the two-dimensional extension of this method working with planar (GPS) coordinates.
